I want to give an honest review based on my experience overall. It has been over a year since I worked with Valerie on my case. Initially, everything seemed to be going smoothly. Unfortunately, I believe that she really wanted me to stick with her so she could get paid, and therefore made the process seem like it was not going to have as big of an impact as it did. As a person who advertises honesty and trust, it's frustrating what I learned after working with her. And yes, I did understand how long it stays on my record, the issues occurred during the filing process that should've been explained up front. I was provided a lot of misleading/inaccurate information.
1. I was told throughout my case that I would have no issue getting an apartment after I moved and that there are programs out there for apartment seekers after bankruptcy. This turned out to be false, and I ended up homeless for 8 months because of it.
2. I couldn't get any bank accounts during or after my bankruptcy. Ended up not getting paid because of this for several paychecks.
3. I was misinformed that I would be able to keep my car, even after the bankruptcy. That ended up being a lie, and I ended up losing my car shortly after I moved because of it.
The point of a bankruptcy is to have a fresh start, but the unfortunate thing is that you end up in an endless loop in which the recovery process is nearly impossible. I had no car, no home, and couldn't get a new place or a new vehicle without thousands of dollars saved up. Then, on top of that, my insurance rate was over $400/month (solely based on bankruptcy), interest rates on car when I got one was insane (almost 30%), and the impossibility of finding a place is still ongoing and I won't be able to get a place for at least 3 years after I filed.
Honestly, the worst thing I could have ever done was file for bankruptcy. I would've been better off just not paying my debt and letting it fall off after 7 years. This whole process was ridiculous, and I hope nobody else has to go through it, and this is why I'm now leaving a review.
