In a year I've spoken to him twice only in person at the court room because he's impossible to get on the phone - him or his receptionist. Currently the voice mail box is full which is the only information I've received in months from him or his office.

I've got some pretty big issues right now with my case, so if some how someone at the office reads these reviews, I need to talk to somebody. Can I get an email address? Cell phone for texting? Facebook account I know he's got one because the first day I saw him he was on it during court.

I hired him years ago and still have not heard back from him apparently all of his office employees quit on him “I wonder why “and from what I see from these reviews, he has ghosted not just me but many other innocent people that have paid him. This is sad because when people are going through things. They hire a lawyer to help them and it’s sad because in this particular situation, the lawyer is not on your side. Worst attorney you could ever possibly hire. Best thing I did was fire him and hire a real lawyer after almost 4 years of him doing nothing. There really needs to be a ZERO star rating for this type of business.

I hire this lawyer to help me in my case and he would never give me 5 minutes of his time to talk about the case before the hearing. The secretary told me in a few times he would call me and I even didn't go to work waiting on his call and he never called me, not even a message. In the hearing day, literally 8 minutes before the zoom hearing he gave me a call, so we didn't have time to even talk about the case and he just canceled it with the judge. After that day he haven't get back to me at all. We already pay half of the money.

Most useless human being on the face of the earth. He was appointed to me by the court for a family dependency case. I spent a year showing him proof that my three children were being abused in state custody... literally gave him a picture of my three year old daughter, covered in bruises. Never ONCE responded to a YEAR'S WORTH of correspondence, never returned a single phone call, never bothered to meet with me, speak in court.. anything! I made multiple appointments to meet with him in person, at his office, where I proceeded to wait for over an hour each time, after which I walked out. At one point in court, he blatantly REFUSED to speak. Was asked if he had anything on behalf of his client (myself) and he would not speak AT ALL. When I asked the judge what it would take for me to receive ANY kind of representation in court, after watching YFA, doctors AND foster parents abuse my children for a year, Mr. McHugh told the judge that all I have to do is call his office and set up an appointment... after which he proceeded to completely ghost me. Did not speak ONE WORD on my behalf for 12 months straight.. until I was forced to fire him and hire a REAL lawyer. I actually begged for him to please pass my case to someone else towards the end, and he ignored that as well. Absolutely disgusting on every level. Did not show up in court at any of my hearings, nor did he even bother to let me know that I would be standing in front of the judge alone. Never bothered to show up for even my mediation. I went through mediation with ZERO representation, nor did he ever respond to ANY questions I asked or offer any advice. How much proof of medical abuse do I need to show my LAWYER before he opens his mouth in court to advocate for me My children are still being abused and traumatized to this day... and the reason for it is this man's blatant refusal to do his job. Pathetic on every level. You are better off representing yourself if you ever come across this fake attorney. At least have the decency to let the judge know that you're not interested or experienced enough to handle my case... before I lose my children and watch my civil rights get violated into oblivion by DCF.

Wow Everyone told me they are going to take your money and they aren't not going to do nothing. And sadly they was 100% right. We payed the 50% and they just appears the last day in court. They don't have idea what to say in front of the judge. Horrible representation, very unprofessional! They are like gangster! Now I lost my money because they don't answer back. Be careful with this White-collar criminals. You want to lose your dogs or your money try call this guys.

If I could give no stars, I would. This law firm was more detrimental to my case then helpful. Like some of the reviews stated, it is impossible to get a hold of this firm. I only talked to Mr. McHugh one time, and that was when I gave him the retainer. Trying to get a hold of the legal assistant, was impossible as well. They turned in my paperwork HANDWRITTEN. They told me to fill out the documents and they would type it up and file it with the courts. This is not what happened. They never responded to the opposing sides attorney, which led to an emergency hearing. When I told them where and when the opposing party was going to be so they could get served, they "forgot" to tell the service company and almost missed the opportunity to serve the other party. Very unprofessional, inconsiderate, unorganized and unresponsive. If this is the service you want, contact them. If not, look somewhere else.

If I could give no stars I would. This is the worst attorney anyone can ask or not ask for. He’s seems to only be in it for wherever the money is. I have been told for months he will get back to me and never has. Horrible communication skills. He shares absolutely no knowledge or understanding of the case. Has never answered any questions I had. Apparently always giving his assistance the run around and never does what he says. He’s a waste of time, he dropped my case because he can care less about me or my family and it shows. Put your energy on a real lawyer. This Matt person is a horrible person.
