A few months ago, a close friend connected me to Russell for freelance marketing with Jacobs Law Group. Currently operating under an LLC, I have been in marketing for over a decade and have fostered excellent relationships with both clients and colleagues (hence, why the referral to Russ).

After two months of work, I issued invoices to Russ - who, throughout that time, was extremely difficult to contact, reach - avoided phone conversation and was not responsive to any emails regarding my marketing efforts, etc. In the midst of his silence, I was still able to coordinate his networking events, however, his ongoing inability to return calls or respond to any emails left much of my work at a standstill - and became a greater waste of my time through repeated follow-up.

Additionally, it took literal weeks of direct email and phone follow-up (as well as repeated attempts to reach his paralegal) to receive any payment for my first invoice. As to the second invoice, he has completely vanished. As a last resort, I hired a collections agency to handle the outstanding invoice (this is the first time I’ve ever had to do so in my career). Russ’s response to the agent was to threaten me with litigation.

To make matters more unprofessional, Russ also slandered me to mutual contacts during a recent conference (who, out of loyalty, shared this with me).

Please note, I have worked with attorneys for several years now but have never encountered even one that uses threatening / unprofessional bully tactics in this manner. As a single, young female and small business owner, I find his behavior particularly disturbing. Needless to say, if you are inclined to work with Russ, I would put *everything* in writing. He is a domineering and, frankly - in my opinion- scary person.

After discussing with other attorneys, I tend to agree with Russ: that litigation would be the best route.

Did my closing with them on Dec 2018 and still didn't receive the policies and all the documents. Every time that i contact them they have another excuse...can't understand why it takes so long usually it takes about a month... very disappointing
