Through a series of circumstances I won't go into, I was cheated of the SSI upgrade to a share of a late parent's Social Security. Someone advised me years later to talk to a Social Security lawyer about my case. The person said that it might not be too late to have a preposterously bad decision reversed. ( I'm a childhood mass murder survivor. )

Parkman did look into my case. When he phoned me a couple of days after that, he told me that there had been a four year "window" during which I could have filed a new case, but that by then, the window was shut irrevocably.

Some days later, possibly as long as a month later, someone from Parkman's office ( a young, associate weasel, I suppose ) phoned me. He told me that if I could pay an initial $1,500.00 retainer, the Parkman office could "look into" my case. At no time did he tell me that Social Security has a "look back" rule which ran for ten years after an appeals turndown, and that during that period, the case could possibly be reversed.

When I had that conversation with the associate weasel, it was two and a half years before the ten year period expired. The Parkman firm certainly could have looked into my case with the possibility that it could be reversed, but at no time during the phone call did the little racine man TELL me about any "look back" rule. If I had known about it, I would have raised the initial money, and more.

Eventually, the little rodent said, "Do you think you could pay $1,000.00?" after the conversation had gone on for a few minutes.

Of course, lawyers are officers of the court, and they serve an indispensable function in our society! Who doesn't know that?!

I don't know quite what to make of this. At the least, the fact that the attorney - at - dam building didn't tell me about this rule guaranteed that I certainly would not try to raise the money to pay them. WHO WOULD?! To repeat, Parkman himself had told me my case was hopeless. Who would pay a lawyer $1,500.00 for nothing?

But why did this happen? Was the associate weasel just a contemptible incompetent, lacking the elementary ability to communicate? The only possibly good reason for the firm's withholding of information from me is that they thought I wouldn't be able to pay the full bill.

We all know that our brave warriors for jurisprudential integrity couldn't possibly have donated their services to try to right a terrible injustice! In any case, I'd have raised the money to pay these awful people if they had told me what the situation actually was.

I have survived all of this only because of the remarkable generosity of my church.

I would advise anyone to avoid these people if possible. There is a lady in the area who has a high rating for her disability law practice. I presume she can communicate, and is a certified non weasel and non incompetent.

Mr. Parkman and his staff are very friendly and easy to talk to. After struggling with social security for almost 2 years to get the benefits I thought I deserved and was being denied, I called Mr. Parkman's office and they were able to get me the disability that I deserved. God bless him and his staff. If you truly are disabled this is the attorney I would call.

Helped my husband win his SSD case for his CFS. Great to work with. Answered questions well even when he'd already won our case (& therefore was guaranteed to get paid without helping us any further). Office staff helpful. Genuinely cared about our family's well-being.

I called to ask for help and the lady was not helpful. With my mental disability explaining things is not easy and gives me extreme anxiety. It's my first time applying for myself and I have no idea what I am doing. I asked her to repeat the number she gave me and she ignored what I had said.
Very unhelpful.

Terrible experience. I did more work on my ss than he did. Had to have a 2nd hearing because he was too busy taking his daughter to school in colorado. spent more time telling me about driving horses to colorado than working on my case.
