I am a Vietnam Veteran currently working with VLI. I am 79 years old and my wife is 85. We are working with one of VLI's estate planning attorneys, Scot. For my wife and I these legal matters are very complex and intricate. Scot has made the complex understandable. My wife and I are feeling very confident that when we pass, our estate will be handled so that our children and grandchildren will receive exactly what we want them to receive.
Sincerely,
Patrick T

After being accepted I did not receive what these folks advertised. I DID NOT even get to speak to an attorney nor get advice from one. My appointment (over the phone) was a representative who worked for the county and wasn't even the county I have my case in. After the initial acceptance I informed them I needed legal representation in court, and not advice (since I already had that provided to me from another organization...hence why I mentioned I needed representation) I was lead on to believe this was a good possibility and was told today they don't have the capacity to resent any veteran in court. This was a huge waste of my time and everyone else involved. This organization did not provide anything that could help and simply prolonged my court case in which I had told the judge I would be speaking to an attorney and asked for an extension. Again never spoke to an attorney, here is just another bogus 501 collecting $$$ from grants and private organizations while utilizing the patriotic veteran card. If you need help, stay far away from this place!

Veterans Legal Institute is an amazing organization and I cannot thank them enough for their hard work, efforts, and support of my VA claim. Ms. Sarah Gross is an outstanding, knowledgeable, and passionate legal representative who has done in the span of a few months what no other firm has been able to do for me in several years. With the help of Veterans Legal Institute and Ms. Gross I was able to move from 10% service connection to 70% (and they remain fighting for me currently!). I am so very fortunate to have them in my corner representing me.

I was originally awards a VA disability rating in 2010. But as I get on and my conditions worsened, I've struggled to get assistance getting a re-evaluation on my disability.
One day, while at the VA in Long Beach, I saw a sign for VA disability claims assistance workshop offered by the Veterans Legal Institute. I attended their workshop in Jan 2023. Within a month, I had an appointment with a VA representative who submitted my claim on the spot. 6 weeks after that, I had my VA disability examination. By August of 2023, I had a new rating awarded by the VA. That's 7 months from first contact with VLI. That is simply amazing!!
Anyone who has ever tried to submit a VA disability claim knows how confusing and convoluted the process can be. Not only did VLI streamline the entire process. They were also so nice and helpful. They explained the process in detail and answered all of my questions.
I am so impressed with VLI and the service they give to veterans in need. I've been recommending them to all of my fellow veterans to use for their claims.

I literally can’t say enough good things about VLI, they helped me out from beginning to end and made sure I was comfortable with everything before they made any moves on my behalf. Because of Veterans Legal Institute, I was about to get my status changed for the better. I’d most definitely recommend VLI to any veteran that needs help filing for their appeals or anything else they may need. Salute to everyone at Veterans Legal Institute, thank you for all your hard work.

The people here are awesome! Where others said they would take my case and see it through over the years these fine group of people actually did! They were victorious at winning my case with the military. Finally after 30 years of trying. They took my case over and it was over in only a couple of years which is amazing considering how back logged and resistant they were. If you are a veteran who needs legal services I suggest trying here first.

This is false advertising! They don't offer legal services they offer paralegal services. They can do nothing to actually resolve a real legal matter.

My landlord raised my rent by over 45% and I went to Veterans Legal Institute for help. They state on their web page that they help veterans with landlord tenant issues. I’m a Vietnam vet with 70% disability rating. All they did was say they didn’t have the expertise to handle my case and gave me some lame referrals. If you’re a lawyer serving veterans and you’re not familiar with an area, then you go to the law library and do some research. They should take the word “Veterans” out of their name. They provide disservice not service to veterans. Patrick Geyer, San Clemente, California
