I have been having problems with my landlord since I moved in months ago. Repairs were not being taken care of, even important "emergency" repairs, like my downstairs flooding. I wanted to know my rights when it came to being a tenant and how I could handle this. I was told to make an appointment after sending in my lease for Mark to review, and a 30 minute consultation would be $25. Perfect. I drive about 30 minutes to meet him, and within 30 seconds of sitting down he says "my advice is to move out". I tried to get my $25 worth by asking question after question and through all the shoulder shrugs and at the end of 13 minutes, he closes with "again, my advice is to move out. I bet you knew that before you walked in here". My advice? Go to anyone else for legal advice. Hopefully he uses my $25 to get his jacket tailored so it fits properly.
