I recently closed on the sale of a property and was advised to use Hay Legal for the process. What a nightmare. During the closing process, we selected to have our documents mailed and emailed to us. The emailed copy came with zero protection and all of our information on it, out there in the open.

As one could imagine, our information was stolen that same day. The next day, to our surprise, a large transfer was executed from the accounts where the proceeds from the sale went to our checking account. Thank god we noticed it that day and called our bank. They banker said that we were one day away from having that money out of our account. (And it was almost every penny from the sale.)

Lastly, we were due a check from property taxes already paid and that was labeled incorrectly and nearly sent to some other house.

If you want your money, your identity, and your sanity use another company.

We recently closed on the sale of a property and Hay Legal completely screwed us. We received an email confirmation of the transaction with ZERO safety measures. Our identities were stolen; bank account information, social security numbers, addresses, etc. As a result we nearly lost all the money from the sale.

Then to top it off, when they mailed our portion of the property taxes back to us, they sent the check to the wrong address. If it wasn't for a FedEx driver that noticed the error, who knows what would have happened to that large check as well.

We called to get some type of response from HLG and we were dodged at every turn. Phone calls not returned, emails ignored... Just a disaster. If zero stars was an option, I would have chose that.
