We decided to meet with Attorney Clofine when my in-law's health quickly and drastically declined. The point of the meeting was to ensure that our assets were protected as we figured out the next best move for my in-laws. Though my husband questioned this meeting, it was one of the smartest moves we made! Rob required us to complete paperwork in advance of our initial meeting and although it was a time-consuming and arduous task, it was extraordinary helpful in making smart, fiscally responsible decisions for my in-laws while providing us security. Through this process, we found out that my in-laws had invested in elder care insurance, which we would have never know if it wasn't for Rob. We have met Rob several times since our initial appointment and we have learned something valuable, that has helped our family with every meeting. He provides us with sound strategic advice, which we always take to our benefit. He has also helped us outside of the law with recommending a realtor and financial planner, again to our advantage. After the experience of working with Rob for my in-laws, Rob has now helped my husband and I plan for our future prioritizing our kid's future security while balancing our needs. When you meet with Rob, you don't feel like your meeting with a stereotypical attorney. You feel like your meeting with a wise friend who is invested in your well-being. With that being said, your paying for that wise friend's time and guidance, so you'd be crazy not to take advantage of it! We always follow Rob's advice and because we do, we have come through a very difficult period stronger and more secure. We HIGHLY recommend Rob Clofine if you need a attorney to be your legal (and in my opinion, personal) advocate as you deal with the steps needed in securely growing older.

Our family was at a loss when Mom entered into a nursing home and Dad was still alive and needed assistance understanding and filling out the paperwork required by the state. When we found Robert Clofine he and his experienced staff was such a Blessing ! They know the law and how to protect your assets to ensure surviving spouses can live independently! Knowledgeable, professional and ethical. These 3 words define our experience with Attorney Clofine. We wanted to redraft our wills and POAs as well as obtain advice on asset protection. Attorney Clofine answered all of our questions, listened to our concerns and made sure our documents clearly reflected our intentions. Prior to meeting with him, we attended a free seminar held by another local elder law firm. We have been working with attorney Clofine for several years to prepare our parent's wills and other necessary documents. Most recently we worked closely with Bob and paralegal Donna to protect my parent's assets after my father was placed in a skilled nursing facility. Without their support and guidance we would have never been able to succeed in getting my father qualified for Medicaid. The entire process is so emotional and stressful. Attorney Clofine was very honest and forthcoming when he informed my brother and I that he would be unable to help us in our quest for assistance with asset protection/Medicaid planning for our mother who had recently entered a nursing home. Mr. Clofine explained that there were legal restrictions associated with our particular situation that would prevent him from following through with our request. There are other law firms out there that are willing to string you along, promising success in achieving your goals, most certainly knowing they cannot meet your expectations, all for the sake of making a profit. This is not the case with the Elder Law Firm of Robert Clofine. We highly recommend Mr. Clofine if you are are looking for an attorney who is open and honest with the sole purpose of helping people out with their elder care needs.

Our family highly recommends the services of Attorney Robert Clofine. We were referred to Attorney Robert Clofine when our grandfather required more ‘advanced’ legal assistance after our grandmother had been in a nursing home for over a year and their assets and estate were in jeopardy due to the high costs of care and lack of proper estate planning.
Our grandfather’s first meeting with Attorney Clofine included him bringing in a grocery bag full of a variety of financial documents and asking for help. Attorney Clofine agreed to help and the process of he and his staff trying to piece together our grandparent’s financial puzzle began.
Attorney Clofine was able to get our grandmother on Medicaid assistance and saved them from possibly losing their valuable farm property at that time. That was just the first of many problems solved.
Soon after that, he guided us through the next steps required for our grandfather’s care as his health also began to decline and we ultimately had to move him to the same nursing home as our grandmother. The problem of losing the farm property kept resurfacing during this period.
We felt as if we were in crisis mode for a period of 3 years. We depended on Attorney Clofine’s guidance to help us pay for our grandparent’s care while trying to also save their estate if possible.
Both of our grandparents passed away a year ago within 6 weeks of each other and Attorney Clofine and his staff continued to guide us through the process of finalizing their estate. He was able to protect their assets (including the farm property) as best as possible under the circumstances and help us avoid excessive estate taxes.
Everything Attorney Clofine told us he would do at the beginning of each ‘crisis event’ was done, just as he explained each time we would meet with him.
In addition to the complexity of our grandparent’s case, was the fact that all the grandchildren live in upstate New York so we were doing most of our meetings with conference calls and day-to-day business through e-mails. Attorney Clofine’s office is very proficient with returning messages within the day or most times sooner. That is typically not the case with many attorney’s offices - we know this through experience with other attorneys!
We would like to thank Attorney Clofine and his staff for everything they did to help our family through a very stressful and emotional time as we were trying to provide the best care for our grandparents while taking care of their estate at the same time.
