My fiancé recently had a real estate transaction with Wilhoit Hatchel LLP. As the seller, he requested their services to prepare the necessary documents for the transaction, although the attorney was initially chosen by the buyers. However, he was disappointed with their performance, which he expected to be more professional and dependable. Unfortunately, multiple issues arose, leading to our sale not closing on time, which was caused by the attorney's office's complete negligence and incompetence. Their lack of communication was particularly problematic, as they waited until the day of closing to request payoff information, despite having been provided with the necessary information a month prior. Additionally, they failed to prepare the settlement statement early, leading to a lack of communication between the lender and the attorney, which resulted in a delay of not only one but two days. Moreover, the attorney's office was unable to follow simple directions, even with reminders.
Throughout the entire process, there was a clear issue with communication, as our agent had to send multiple emails before receiving a response. Even at the very end, when we requested that the proceeds be placed on a single check, they were unable to do so correctly.
 Overall, I would not recommend using this attorney's office if you value clear communication and a smooth transaction process.
