I recently had a highly disappointing experience with Bert Roos who was hired for an amicable divorce. This lawyer missed our 1st court deadline where we only had to present the decree which was never made by him, providing excuses and attempting to gaslight me when confronted. My ex-husband hired him, hoping for a smooth resolution, but the lawyer failed to deliver on creating the necessary decree in a timely manner. On the second attempt (we had to request 60 days more) he waited until the last possible day to send me the decree for my review and signature, nearly jeopardizing the entire deal.

Aside from his unprofessionalism in meeting deadlines, his conduct during our interactions was unacceptable. He constantly interrupted, made threats even in an amicable context, and engaged in mansplaining throughout the process. When I attempted to set boundaries and demand respect, he responded with yelling and even hung up the phone.

In my opinion, a lawyer should be able to navigate these situations without letting emotions and personal issues interfere. For some reason it feels like he hates women and you can check other reviews about how he treats them. If you're seeking legal guidance for a straightforward divorce without unnecessary complications, I strongly advise against choosing this lawyer. It has been a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I believe there are better options available for those in need of legal support.

This is my first experience with a lawyer and I thought they were supposed to fight for you or just injustice but Bert managed to make my case totally against me instead. He missed deadlines and must have thought any of my evidence was not needed since he did not turn any of it in. Therefore I went in on an adult guardianship case to have more input in my fathers care and I ended up being taken off the trust and having no say in anything. He does not take more than 15 minutes to listen to you and then he mocks you making you feel stupid and I am for not looking at these reviews before hiring him. He lost my paperwork for 6 months then finally filed with the court and made so many errors in communication I let him go. Now I find out that if I want to have a say in anything I will need to start all over from scratch and I can not afford that again. 1800.00 down the drain that took me three years to save up for gone. He does not care about anything else except doing the minimum to get paid. He had me doing all the work myself making copies of my evidence then did not even bother to turn it in on time or at all. He put nothing down on the initial disclosure either so I have no chance when the opposing party has 6 months to say all kinds of things about me and I go in blank. What comes around goes around and I hope he sees how he hurt people instead of helping them. Personally I think the opposing council scared him to where he asked to leave my case. Look elsewhere for a lawyer this guy does no good for you. He is too busy to work with you either and does not remember he called and set up a meeting with you. Probate law is not for him. I recommend anyone else but this guy. Look up your future lawyer on the State Bar Association, I wish I did.

If you want an attorney that does not know what is going on with your case, or what his client even looks like- this is your guy. 3 minutes to my hearing he was asking me to describe what i submitted for evidence over the last 6 months and he scribbled down key points in what I was asking for because he DID NOT KNOW. If you try to address these concerns he will find a way to turn it back on you and say it’s because you didn’t do XYZ. I’m not sure about you but I hired an attorney because i DONT know arizona law, I don’t know the processes and I needed someone who could follow this and let me know along the way what is needed of me. Not 3 hours before an evidentiary hearing saying well we don’t have this, and we needed this. When other reviewers say he did more for the other party, they are correct. And don’t try to terminate your agreement because he will call you, tell you you have nothing to worry about, and still screw you over. What a freaking joke.

So very rude! Been trying to get my refund and was spoken too like a child! Bert was very rude and condescending with me when I was just trying to get through to the office but they had the number rerouted to him. And instead of talking to me and stating sorry the phone is rerouted give me a sec he talked down to me telling me I was calling the wrong number and that I don't know what I'm talking about. RUDE and glad I an getting my refund!

He's terrible, unprofessional, he didn't even went to court when he supposed to be there for me, I think he was drunk that one day or hangover, he just took my money away.
What it goes around, comes around, hopefully one day, he pays all the damage, he's causing to his own clients.

Gave the money to my daughter for a custody case and apparently he did more for the other person than to my daughter. A year later my daughter still does not have her child after the father violated the Court Order many times. My daughter call to get the case revisited and all he did was ask her for another $2200. I'm getting a better law firm to start over.
