I would like to highlight the genius of this board. They have really thought through their policies. I went to use the Fort Island Trail boat ramp. My tires started to slip badly enough I chose not to use the boat ramp. I get a fine in the mail from a company not based in Florida, but New Orleans of all places. If you don't know, the New Orleans Police Department is under a Consent Decree Monitor. This simply means their enforcement agencies are, so incompetent (corrupt in New Orleans case) the federal government has to oversee their activities. LA and Baltimore are other example of cities under a Consent Decree Monitor. Although this is a private company there probably isn't good oversight of it. Why would you want to keep this job local when it can be outsourced to a city that is under a Consent Decree Monitor. When you dispute the fine another third party responds. Sounds like a scam right? It's not. It is but its not. You get the point. They have to hide behind, so many corporate layers because what they are doing is disgusting by making this a process in which even the non violators are still fined. Premium Parking did work, so they must be paid. The idea behind the legal scam is to make it not worth your time to fight the $50 fine which in "fairness" they reduce to $25. If it was really fair, you would have just charged me the $25 first? If there is a $10 fee to use the ramp and a $15 admin fee who is getting the other $25 in the original fine? If you think the parking lot is going to be full or ramp is going to have an inch of algae on it, don't even drive through a boat ramp in Citrus County because that constitutes using the ramp. I have yet to see a photo of my trailer with and without a boat on it. The moral of the story is its not worth my time to drive the few hours to argue this in front of the Code Enforcement Special Master, but just pay the fine. That's what they want anyway and that is why they are so incredibly genius. As a last thought, isn't it a code violation for a boat ramp to have a hazardous amount of algae on it? They are so genius they only follow the codes they want to follow.

If a tenant breaks a code rule and gets fined why does the landlord have to pay the fine! Code never even asked the tenant to pay the fine they didn't care who was guilty of the violations.They just know they can get the money from the landlord!! If I loan my car to someone and they get a speeding ticket do I have to pay the fine,of course NOT !!

⛺ When I raised concerns about this invasive behavior, JC, the director of code enforcement, displayed utter indifference, showing no care for our legitimate worries.

Furthermore, attempting to engage with JC is an exercise in frustration. 💔 He consistently cuts you off mid-argument and fails to listen to your concerns. His dismissive attitude reflects a larger problem within the office—an inability to recognize and support the vital contributions of small businesses and community organizations like Happy Campers Rescue Ranch. Citrus County prides itself on its entrepreneurial spirit and hardworking residents. However, with code enforcement officials like JC at the helm, it's clear that the county is stuck in outdated practices that stifle growth and innovation.

💰 Investors beware: investing in a county that fails to protect its residents and businesses is a risk not worth taking.For families seeking refuge from overbearing homeowners associations, Citrus County may seem like a promising alternative. However, I urge you to look elsewhere or ensure you have legal protection in place.

Why do we even have a Code Compliance Department if no one is going to do the job?
I'm pretty sure if it was you that had to look at a home that has a land field in the yard across from your home day in and day out You would not appreciate it either.If we are are going to have a code compliance Department then someone needs to do the job if not shut it down and save the people of the county money!

Pretty sad code enforcement won't enforce the rules & law. 2939 East Edwards Island Point Hernando has a 9 Foot UnPermitted Fence 16 Feet into road right away all along Howe Terrance & East Rugby Trail. Please Enforce the Law....
