Beware of using them for will-writing. You will only ever speak to a salesman, not a solicitor. In our case, they advised a trust will, but they only ask generic tick-box questions and do not take the time to fully understand your circumstances. It has been a complete nightmare for me since the recent death of my partner. The independent solicitor who is now helping me has told me they should never have recommended a trust will to us. The first thing I have had to do is pay nearly £900 to wind up the trust that should never have been recommended in the first place.
I recommend you avoid dealing with them at all costs. I wish we'd had nothing to do with them.

Avoid their will making service as you would the plague. The process has been a nightmare with very little help. Ideally it would be far better to go to an office and complete there but this is not an option. I still have no will completed after over 12 months.

I instructed Co-Op Legal services to draft a Will for myself. Although the legal advice given was good the process was a shambles. All in all it took 3 months to draft a straightforward single person will.

• The initial consultation meeting was delayed given they said the my confirmation e-mail went into their junk box.
• Too much information was requested regarding assets that was not used or necessary in drafting the Will
• The Co-Op try and sell any additional services and try their best to sell you a trust Will where the final commission is unknown until time of execution of the Will.
• They actually started to prepare me a Co-Op trust Will when I requested a single person Will and this had to be corrected.
• The Will was happy to deal with my assets in any part of the world apart from India.
• They assumed the Will was complete before I actually received the final version. They said they thought they had posted it but when checked was not sent.
• The final Will reference number for storage started 666 (not a great number on a Death Will).

Don’t use them, case managers poor, lack of understanding in process, mistakes in IHT submission, poor communication we are always chasing for updates. Lack of process and very poor in dealing with problems. At a time when a customer needs support and confidence in getting through difficult process they haven’t provided anywhere near the service their mission statement sets out. Don’t use them. I’d give them no stars if I could.

Excellent service during a particularly difficult time for me and my husband. Our Case Manager was very supportive and was always able to answer all our questions. The phone meeting we had was thorough and allowed us to consider all aspects of our legal documentation effectively. Thank-you.

I found Co-op Legal services very good in drawing up a simple but complete Will. My case manager was MH. He was always very polite, friendly and efficient.
The initial interview was carried by phone and quick correspondence was by E-mail. I also had a promptly answer telephone call, with the adviser answering my queries. MH kept me informed of every step in the process and made amendments to my Will as per my instruction.
I would happily use them again and recommend their services.

Please please do not use them for probate purposes. I have been using the co-op legal services for my dads estate, he passed away over 3 years ago now, and his case is still not yet completed with the co-op!! please avoid them for this service, I would not wish there poor level of care on anyone. They are highly stressful to work with. I have had 4 different case handlers/ solicitors given to me during this time period as they kept leaving, one of which I was not even informed that they had left, so when i was emailing and left a message with her receptionist (still was not even told by her) and not hearing anything back, it was because she had actually left my dads case but no one bothered to tell me, I was only informed after I made a complaint.
Some of the important paper work I sent them that had been signed went missing, internally, so I had to pay to be witnessed signing it again and then sending it off again, these documents then went 'out of date' because they were not used in time by the co-op, so I had to pay to get them redone again.
I asked for a list of everywhere that is still outstanding with my dads case, when given one, I contacted the places myself, some of which they informed me that they had finished dealing with the co-op last year so they dont understand why they were flagged up as outstanding and unable to proceed with closing my dads case without them, others told me that they had spoken with the co-op and had been waiting for months for them to send them some piece of information or documentation through, it is really just not good enough and shows such a lack of care on behalf of the co-op. I made a second complaint to the co-op, to be told that they dont think they need to do anything about it because as far as they are aware they have been doing everything that they can and to a good quality, which I obviously do not think is true. Please please, just dont use them its a nightmare.
