In 2020 I was driving a rental car from O'Hare to my parents' apartment in LaPorte when I was struck head-on by a car whose driver had been distracted by a house fire and crossed the center line.

At the accident site the Sheriff provided me with the name of the other driver and the insurance info she had provided. His report concluded that the accident was the other driver's responsibility.

I had confidence that I could handle the administration associated with the accident and assure payment to all those that had provided a service to me so I decided not to use a lawyer. For the next six months I worked hard to resolve the accident billings. Phone wait times were long. I spent thirty-six hours on the phone and got all but three billings resolved. Then I hit a wall. The at-fault driver's company refused to pay any more bills until I settled with them. I realized I needed an attorney.

I wanted a person that would handle my case...not hand it off to a team. These key personality and business traits were important: (1) attention to detail, (2) positive demeanor, (3) good follow-up skills, and (4) a bulldog determination. Over the next two days I called four law firms that were highly rated. Two were eliminated after the phone interview. By the time I finished the last interview, Dave Cox, who I had called first, called me back. He had already found additional information about the accident through research and phone calls. Hired!

I am very pleased with the outcome. He identified and resolved two improperly handled financial issues...one initiated between the insurance companies and another by a medical billing company. He explored every possible settlement option and he succeeded in obtaining a very satisfactory payment. But true to form, he also fought to assure that the wording of the settlement document was one that would not be a detriment to me in the future. He sews up every hole!

As for those four personality and business traits...he owns them! Give this "really nice guy" attorney five stars!

Dave is an amazing attorney/person. I was in a car accident and didn't want to get a lawyer but my mom was hiring Dave for my little sister ( she was in the car accident with me) after him coming to my home ( which was super great because I had rib fractures and could barely move) he was so easy to talk to and told me he would handle everything ( I've never hired a layer before). Well as soon as I hired him he went to work and started making all these phone calls. He really did do ALL the work. Through the entire process I had a piece of mind, i didn't have to stress out about anything (he handled it all and told me to just work on getting better). He was always informing me on what was going on so we had great communication. He won my case and it was way more than I thought I was ever going to get. I am VERY pleased with his service. After my case was done months later the party at fault tried to sue me ( the wife who was passenger of the vehicle at fault) and even though Dave is no longer my attorney I called him for advice ( because I was super nervous never went through any of this before) he gladly calmed me down and told me what will happen. He even called my insurance to let them know what's going on because they are obligated to hire a legal representative to defend me. Dave also told me if they don't do what they are obligated to do not to worry he will handle it (even though he is no longer my attorney). I can't thank him enough because he really gives me peace of mind. And till this day he called to check up on how everything was going and if my insurance stays on top of the case. I HIGHLY recommend Dave trust me you won't regret it. Dave you're the best!!!
