Worst experience ever. I was being billed for conversations Maria was having with the opposing counsel and I was not informed on what those conversations were about. During one call with Maria we were going over some options for the case and I had to ask what those conversations were about. As a client I feel I should be informed on everything I'm being billed for. At the end of that conversation Maria had told me to think about a settlement. I did not give a yay or nay on that before we hung up. But she continued to have these settlement conversations with the opposing counsel even though there was a "final judgement" hearing approaching. Also even though I didn't give a yes answer on trying to settle because I KNEW the other person would want me on the losing end of the settlement. Even without a yes answer I was being billed for settlement conversations Maria was having with the opposing counsel. I shouldn't have been billed with a final judgement hearing weeks away. I informed her that work was slow and I would pay her the $1k soon. Or even so when the house was sold. Like the money was no doubt there. But Maria decided to with draw the DAY BEFORE THE FINAL HEARING. So then that very important hearing was canceled and the future is unknown for my side. Had she just done the hearing, she would have had her money already, plus late fees. Its crazy because my wife has had an on going case for the last seven years with her families estate, and her lawyers from a way bigger law firm didn't get paid for 5-6 years of them working on the case. BUT they knew the money was within the estate so they eventually would be paid. And Maria was having a hard time over a month passed due. Beyond ridiculous
