At the El Monte Courthouse, I had the best judicial experience to date. When I arrived, there was a line at the door, but I needed to use the restroom. I let the sheriff know that helped me locate my name on the docket. He had compassion for me and allowed me to go ahead of the line into the building. Whew, what a relief.

While I was in department 6 for a traffic violation, Judge Daniel A. Lopez was judging cases with wisdom and compassion. Everyone left the courtroom with a smile because Judge Lopez's judgments were fair and just.

Some left the court with no fees to pay; others left with a reduction in costs by 75% - 80%, another will receive a refund check. Judge Lopez and his supporting staff restored my faith and gave me hope in the Judicial system. I would there be more like him in our judiciary. Thank You!

6 bucks to park there. No thanks
I needed a copy of a fix it ticket and the first latina lady at the window was no help at all.
She told me to go to the kiosk down the way and see if i cant print it there. It didnt have a print option. So i went back and waited 5 minutes while she was playing on her phone when a nice asian lady next to her helped me. Thank you! I took her 1 minute to find the ticket and print me a copy! 5 stars for her?

I wish I could give this place NO STARS! Or minus stars!!! Usually when you go to see the judge for a ticket they'll lower your fine...DON'T EXPECT IT AT THIS STUPID PLACE! Even when you have a $500 fine those money hungry a-holes won't lower your fine even a LITTLE!!! I'm a student AND A SINGLE MOTHER and it's NOT RIGHT! ANNND TO make it even WORSE they wouldn't let me get on a PAYMENT PLAN?!!! The freaking judge looked at me and said, "you're gonna have to save up!" Like, easy for you to say jerk! Not to MENTION they CHARGE FOR PARKING!? Never in my life have I been to a courthouse that charges for parking. This place is a bunch of bs!!! Also, I never received the initial letter from them after I got my ticket like I was supposed to. Turns out the cop wrote my address wrong on the ticket. So I call the courthouse to tell them to fix my address in the system, the lady gives me all kinds of attitude and says I need to write a letter telling them my correct address and sign it!? So that's what I DID along with my check. Then I get the traffic school info in the mail from them BUT MY ADDRESS WAS STILL WRONG thank goodness I even got the info!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I wish I could give them no stars. All the employees do not want to help you. I’d rather sit at the dmv all day than go here. I hardly can ever get someone to answer the phone and then when they do answer the phone they don’t actually help you until you have called 5 different times on 5 different days. I even waisted my time and money to go in and get help and I walked out with nothing accomplished. Lazy lazy people work here.

All these bad reviews are helpful. ..ESPECIALLY about "taking calls"...THEY DONT..phone just hangs up after a few minutes of waiting......BUT BESIDES that my 2 court experience here were FANTASTIC. ...They judge was fair and has not time for bs.. MY fine was reduced with PLENTY of time to pay it off..Employees are very polite and helpful in person..
