I truly believe Rachel is a compassionate attorney, but the horrible referral she gave me was the turning point for the worse in my custody battle with my abusive ex.

I dpoke with Kenniyah Logan at Gulf Coast Legal Aid about my case.She tild me a lawyer was going to handle my case pro bono.I had nothing to worry about.I explained i was a time limit with rhe courts to get proper evidence in front of the Judge.It was an eviction case.My "landlord"kicked in my bedroom door 2x.Pinellas Sheriff was called 2x.My landlord demanded cash payments frim all 5 properties.When I asked for a reciept,I got evicted.While Ms.Logan kept assurting me in emails my lawyer is on the case.No worries.After 2 weeks amd hearing nothing I emailed Ms logan to ask who my lawyer was.NO RESPONSE.ANOTHER WEEK,NO EMAILS,NOTHING SO I CALLED THE CLERK OF COURT,SHE TOLD ME I NEVER HAD A LAWYER,ITS A CIVIL CASE AMD IT JUST SO HAPPENED I CALLED THE DAY THE JUDGE ORDERED ON BEHALF OF THE LANDLOED THAT ASSULTED ME 2X AND THE JUDGE IS SENDING THE SHERIFF ANYTIME TO PUT THE 24 HR NOTICE ON THE DOOR AMD ALL MY BELONGING ARE GOING IN THE STREET.I HAVENT FORGOTTEN THE UNETHICAL PRACTICE YOU DO AT GULF COAST MS.LOGAN.THE FLORIDA BAR WILL ALSO KNOW.PLEASE DO NOT COME TO GULF COAST FOR ANYTHING.NOT EVEN A PARKING TICKET.

This is an update to Gulfcoast Legal Services. Years ago, I had my will done and had an excellent experience…… HOWEVER….

2 weeks ago, I filled out an application for legal help with a mobile home park issue. The application stated that someone would reach out within 1-2 days. NO ONE ever got back to me. I called this morning and chose the option for Pinellas County and then option 4 for HOUSING. Whoever answered, the phone was the rudest person ever! They did not identify themselves, would not let me speak, would not let me explain my situation And kept saying, “let me finish please let me finish, let me finish” SO RUDE! NO COMPASSION, EMPATHY or HUMANITY.

Could that be because she didn’t do her job in the first place? If you’re going to call them, I guess it depends on what department and who you work with. The woman never identified herself and never did her job. Could that be why she was so rude?

I recently had the pleasure of working with the team at Gulfcoast Legal Services. They helped me file my Last Will and Testament, Designation of Healthcare Surrogate, Durable Power of Attorney and an enhanced life estate deed also known as a Ladybird deed. I’m guessing not many people know about this valuable and crucial service they provide.

Miss Tanya Gray was instrumental in coordinating the team and all of the paperwork. She is absolutely a professional who conducts herself with great integrity and thoughtfulness. Witnesses were required so a lawyer and two witnesses attended. This was all done extremely professionally with great attention to detail. I had had a will done back in the 90s but it was from another state. That process had been very formal. Gulfcoast Legal services was every bit as professional as any law firm could have been. I cannot say enough about how meticulous and attentive they were and the personal concern they showed.

I don’t have a lot but I do have a child and I want to leave any assets I have to him. I also did not want to leave a mess for others. It has giving me a lot of peace of mind. Florida is one of the three states in the country that does not have Legal Aid offices. I learned this at Gulfcoast. Life Planning is only one of the many important and valuable programs they provide. They deserve the communities full support.

IT'S TRUE ! You really 'do' get what you paid for. I paid nothing, and got nothing in return. Couldn't agree more with the reviewer who wrote, "You're better off defending yourself".

I called Legal Aid to get help with tenant landlord issues. The individual I spoke to did not want to hear my side of the story. I was merely trying to tell her that the facts presented in the case are incorrect and that I do in fact have proof to back up what I was trying to tell her. She refused to help me and kept interrupting me while I was trying to tell her my side of the story. Then she finally asked my age. Because I'm not over the age of 60 they cannot help me even though I am disabled. I have come to the conclusion the State of Florida does not and will not help any individuals who are under the age of 60. Nor will they provide affordable housing to those under the age of 50. I was also rejected my rights to receive disability benefits in the state of Florida because the judge said I was too young to be disabled! Florida seems to be a very age discriminatory state and something needs to be done about this! I was also denied my right to reasonable accommodations from a Pinellas County Court Judge after I was already granted accommodations before. I'm deaf and hard of hearing with hearing aids and need a translator. I was told by this Judge to attain and pay for my own interpreter for my next hearing! What is wrong with you people!!!! And they wonder why I'm so bitter and get frustrated 😠 I didn't ask to have Meniere's Disease!!!!
