Had a truly bizarre encounter with Heath Nailos and his staff.

My wife was attacked by a dog. On the recommendation of our attorney we contacted Heath. He was initially very helpful. He explained that since the dog owner did not have homeowners insurance coverage for the dog that our best bet would be to sue in small claims court. If it came to that he offered (and this is the important part of this review) to give use "pointers" as how to go about the process. I asked what his fee would be and he said there would be none, as he was always eager to "help people out" such as us in situations like this. In fact he made something of a special point about it. So we thanked him for his time and took him at his word.

When the dog owner refused to settle I spoke with one of his paralegals and set an appointment to speak with Heath about how to proceed with the small claims. When I called in at the appointed time there was no appointment on his calendar. The paralegal had no idea what I was talking about. After giving her a rundown of the situation she repeatedly explained that he had declined the case. I countered several times that I already knew that! We had found that out in our first conversation! The same conversation in which he offered advice on our small claims submission. Finally I got fed up with talking to a brick wall and hung up. The moral of this story is that if you are going to have anything to do with these people - do it on a RECORDED LINE and/or IN WRITING! Otherwise they may decide to just walk away from you as they did us.
