This has been a true nightmare. What should have been an easy happy event has turned into a fight. My husband and I did a step parent adoption with no contest from the biological father. The process was smooth and we were finished by August 2017. It is now may 2018 and the lawyers paralegal messed up the paperwork resulting in not being able to get the birth certificate. They tell me they’ll call me back. They tell me they mailed in the paperwork. I called a week later to verify the papers had been received and we were on to the next step the lady laughs and says oh I just sent it in today. I’m livid. I’m now moving states and have no birth certificate to register my son for school next year. And they could not care less.

Now finally it is getting fixed. They refused to mail the proper nessisary paperwork in a timely fashion. So I drove 40 minutes one way to go pick it up. I arrive and ask to speak to the attorney, the front lady scoffed at me asking if I was Jessica and handed me what I needed. I wanted to ask why I wasn’t called earlier to pick up the forms if they knew mailing wasn’t an option. Nope. I wanted to talk to the lawyer I paid for. Nope. Now I’m on my way to the court house which will probably be closed by the time I drive another 40 minutes back to my home town. I pray you don’t use this man. His office is a joke. But on the phone for your first call before you give him money they’ll sound amazing!
