Attorney Jeff Rider and his associate Kathleen worked with my family as we navigated the often confusing process of helping our loved one down the path of Medicaid and long-term care. They provided expert advice, listened to all of our questions, and led us through this process.
As our loved one was no longer able to care for herself, we were faced with finding the best care and determining how to move forward in a difficult situation. Jeff and Kathleen were attentive, thoughtful, patient, and provided very personal care to us through it all. This included the process prior to applying for Medicaid which is quite lengthy and then the application process itself. Met with Mr. Rider on January 13th to discuss a Guardianship. He was to look into a change of venue form for me to file on my own and get back to me in a couple of weeks. He finally contacted me in April to find out how I wanted to proceed. I asked him to email the form to me but he has not yet. Now he has called me a month later stating that he has partially filled the forms out and we can discuss how to proceed. I did not ask for him to fill out the form. And do not nor would I ask him to do anything for me at this point because he waited 4 months to even follow-up and then another month to take it upon himself to complete something I did not ask him to complete. If I could give a negative star I would. If you do work with him make sure you have plenty of time to get it done as he appears to be in no hurry.

My interaction with the office was when I needed a document notarized immediately for a family matter. I had contacted my bank but they no longer notorized documents that were not their own. I reached out to the library and City Hall and they no longer provide that service. (Note: this was during COVID) My husband suggested Mr. Rider's office. He had recently dealt with him on a family member's death. Since I was near the office, I stopped by without an appointment. I was greeted promptly by the receptionist. She took my document back to an associate. The associated then came to me, had me sign my document and then notarized it. All done with 10 minutes. When I asked what I owed, they said no charge. We're happy to help. I was very appreciative of the prompt, professional, kind service that I received.
