If I could give zero stars, I would. Ron Kelsay was assigned as a public defender for my son, and the experience with both him and his office was extremely disappointing and disrespectful.

When I contacted the office to schedule an appointment, I was met with blatant rudeness from the administrative assistant—an experience that, based on others' accounts, seems to be common. On the day of the appointment, we were sent back and forth between two offices with no clear communication or coordination.

When Mr. Kelsay finally arrived and called my son back, he refused to let me accompany him, even though my son specifically requested my presence. My son wanted support in asking the right questions and understanding the legal process, but Mr. Kelsay denied that request. While I was waiting, I witnessed another young client being called in with their parent—who was invited to join the meeting without issue.

I stuck my head in his office and expressed to Mr. Kelsay that I felt it was important to be part of the conversation, and he flatly, again, refused, stating he would not speak with me. After a 40-minute meeting, he emerged, handed me a barely legible handwritten note, and told me I could read that—adding that he still wouldn’t speak to me. When I objected, he said, “Your son understands what is going on. You do not.”

I have never felt more disrespected or condescended to by a professional. My son left the meeting frustrated and confused, unable to explain what had been discussed. All he could say was that Mr. Kelsay told him he was “effed” and that the case would be continued.

I ultimately had to dip into my savings to hire a private attorney. Mr. Kelsay is a state-paid attorney, and the people of Garland County deserve far better representation and professionalism than what we experienced.

Ronald kelsay rushed me through a 30 minute consultation, gave me approximately 7 minutes and continued to tell me to send him an $800 retainer before he would look at anything. Receptionist consistently had an extremely bad attitude. I was denied help by this law firm because I sought of help from other attorneys. How pathetic to choose not to help someone who is having a difficult financial time with the loss of several family members. Find some else, anyone else.

The attorney has a bad attitude. I called about reopening a child custody case and he was short and seemed as if he didn’t want to answer my questions. He only cared about his retainer and wouldn’t give me insight about the process. I live out of state due to military service and I didn’t feel comfortable with him handling my business. Again rude, short and this is coming from service member.

Our first conversation gave me confidence and a peace of mind that Ron was the attorney with the knowledge and the experience that I needed.
Ron had the foresight to lead me in the direction for a fair and fast settlement.

I believe that, as they say, "nobody wins in a divorce", but I know that Ron was managing my case with my best interest in mind.

So I will start off by saying, I don't normally take the time to write a review. but after being represented by Mr. Kelsay (Ron) today It is the very least, I can do to give a few minutes of my time to acknowledge the experience and wonderful representation Mr. Kelsay provided to me. His knowledge and experience as well as devotion of time to hear me was the best, I have ever received from any attorney. He is one of Garland county's public defenders which gives me a good idea of what his case load must involve. With that being said he went far above and beyond for me without hesitation. He got me better results, than I thought I could get. Let alone dreamed I would get! He is very good and prompt in returning phone calls and he remembers what you tell him and you don't have to tell your case over and over and wait for him to get with anyone to find out a answer he has the answer knowledge and experience to give you a answer and that to makes him an A+ super lawyer in my honest opinion Another thing that really stood out to me is he is not afraid to go to trial for you if he can't get the offer he thinks you deserve. If myself or anyone I know ever has a need for any of the services or areas of law he practices without hesitation he will be the one I use and/or highly recommend. I feel so fournate I had him assigned to represent me. You won't go wrong with him. Thank you so much Mr Kelsay!

Worst reception for real. Attorney is OK. Kinda lackadaisical. If you value your money and time, I suggest you seek counsel elsewhere.

Very poor attorney with a bad attitude. I called him on behalf of a grieving family member about a Will he published, and he had no compassion and was rude. Really...no kidding. He actually hung up on me after I asked him why he was being kurt to me. All I was asking him some basic questions about the process and he was just plain rude. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT USE THIS GUY FOR ANYTHING. I wouldn't hire him to mow my lawn.
