I was appointed Marcus almost 3 years ago as a public defender. I was in prison at the time and expected the normal lackluster performance from a public defender. I had pending cases in multiple counties. Marcus went above and beyond in my case. Even assisting me and dealing with my cases and other counties. I got phenomenal results with Marcus is my representation even as a court appointed attorney. Since then I have hired Marcus as my private counsel on other matters. He is experienced knowledgeable and professional. His communication with me has been excellent and his assistant is great also. This guy is a joke. Long story cut short, I had him "granted" to me by the court while I was in prison. Now, I do understand with being a public defender, I will not get the same treatment as a paid client...although that is still not okay, I was expecting this. Started off great! I was like okay this guy really wants to help people. Ha! He is a liar. Not only that, he did not give me any notification that my case had been decided. Which, in turn, made me miss my appeal. I have called numerous times for help and options on how to rectify this situation, and he doesn't return calls or emails. What a joke. I will say, the receptionist McKayla is awesome. But marcus needs some help.

You have done a horrible job at the GAL AND DIDNT DO WHAT WAS BEST FOR MY SONS INTEREST.
YOU WAS OKAY WITH HIS SO CALLED DAD MOLESTING HIM AND STILL TRYING TO SEND MY SON OVER THERE EVEN THOUGH MY SON HAS TOLD YOU HE WASNT SAFE OVER THERE.
You got terminated for being the gal thank God the judge had a heart and did that because since you been the gal my son was molested 2 times and you knew both times and didn't care.

He lies to get custody! He pushes for the Non custodial parent to NOT pay support! He does not give a care about the children even if the parent has not been around. I wonder how he sleeps at night

I thought I had found a good attorney. But he ghosted me right in the middle of my divorce and left me with out representation. This has messed up my divorce. This attorney will not respond to any communication attempt. I have never seen a lawyer act like this. I'd be very cautious if you're considering hiring this attorney. I think you'd do a better job alone. I will have to explain to the Judge that my attorney ghosted his client and left me and my kids vulnerable during a divorce. Very unpleasant and horrible experience. No wonder lawyers get a bad rep. If they all act like this. Terrible, unprofessional and uncaring.

After hearing my case, he promised to write a letter to the people that owed me a refund. He Billed me for initial visit and did nothing else but avoid my attempts to contact him to find out why he did not do as promised. I will be filing a grievance with the Indiana Bar association for his mishandling of my case. Update He sent me a full refund at my request so I did not file a grievance, but I would never seek his help going forward.
