On December 15th, 2023 the perpetrator was sentenced to 4.5 years in the Department of Corrections for Kidnapping by Domestic Violence.
Funny, as I recall I was advised by the very advocate of KAPP that I "was not the ideal victim" because I fought back.
Don't listen to ANYONE!! LET YOUR SPIRIT GUIDE YOU ? and keep fighting. First, for yourself because YOU COUNT TOO & also for DUE DILIGENCE for the ladies before us who weren't able to keep fighting & for DUE DILIGENCE.
We pave the way for tomorrow - so we all need to to take action, get out and vote & make changes as the defendants have the RIGHTS in the Judicial System (the right to discuss plea offers without the victim present, the right to council, the right to contest restitution & so on) NOT the person who was affected by the monster who had no self control. I had NO idea until I went through the entire case.
By the way, I did attempt to reach out by email to the director of KAAP to kindly let her know the date of sentencing so she would be able to put in a reimbursement claim for restitution for the tax payers dollars spent and those who contributed their own donations towards the gift card I received . She refused to even acknowledge my email.
Our intuition guides us when our thoughts no longer are accurate. Rather a result of Manipulation, Mental, Emotional, Physical Abuse, maybe we no longer love ourselves or have a support system around us & sometimes we will settle for crumbs because we are so desperate to be loved. We all want love. But this price is far too much.
Walk away before it is too late and you lose respect from children for allowing someone else more access to your life than your children, before your family becomes more distant, your friends grow tired, your health deteriorates, the money is strained , you began to question your sanity, vacations are a thing of your past, peace is sleeping in late, laughter is rare and love.. you decided to call it quits forever.
Most importantly, walk away before he kills you.
? God had something else in mind for YOU.
