Dropped the ball on a family members judgement when the defendant went to bankruptcy court. Their reasoning? The attorney handling her case claimed she didn't want to pursue it through bankruptcy before he left. No one from the firm followed up with her after she had paid then nearly 40 grand to do next to nothing for her in civil court.

I highly suggest looking elsewhere. Here you will be over charged and get absolutely zero positive results in your favor.

I noticed this law firm responded, and rather quickly. If only they showed the same enthusiasm to their own clients as they do reviews. I'll happily leave screenshots in their business page, and email communication where Mr.Podlaski himself admits communication failure, and hired an outside firm to try and "make it right". Unfortunately that outside firm said she was out of luck, it had already been discharged. I would recommend anyone in this same scenario, which appears to be a lot of people, to hire a malpractice attorney and sue this attorneys insurance "if" they have any.

It is deeply concerning that Podlaski LLP has chosen to respond with outright falsehoods in an attempt to cover their tracks rather than addressing the legitimate grievances raised. Their claim that I (or my family member) was never a client is a blatant misrepresentation of the facts, as I have documented evidence of engagement, communication, and payment for services rendered—services that ultimately resulted in failure due to their admitted negligence.

Furthermore, their response is nothing more than a carefully crafted attempt to salvage their reputation, rather than acknowledging the gross mishandling of a case that directly resulted in financial loss and justice being denied. The notion that this firm "relentlessly pursues" judgments is laughable in the face of their documented failure to act when it mattered most.

Instead of accepting responsibility, Podlaski LLP has chosen to gaslight dissatisfied clients and dismiss valid criticisms as "unsubstantiated." If they truly operated with the level of diligence they claim, there would be no need for this conversation in the first place.

I stand by my review, and I encourage anyone considering this firm to think twice before trusting them with any legal matters. When faced with accountability, they resort to denial and deflection rather than professionalism and integrity.

SUMMARY: Our negative experience with Podlaski LLP forced us to retain the services of a completely different attorney just to get answers (and eventually a small refund).

SHORT STORY: We hired Podlaski LLP in October 2022 to fight against a moving company that breached their contract and cost us thousands of dollars in damages. To their credit, Podlaski was able to successfully obtain a judgement in our favor approximately 7 months after we signed on.

However, over the next 14 months their failure to execute asset searches, their frequent in-office turnover and their lack of communication cost us any opportunity to collect on our judgement. All the while, we were paying thousands of dollars in monthly invoices for nothing but inaction. After trying to get answers on the phone -- and being billed for it -- we finally decided as a last resort to throw the kids in the car and drive 400+ miles to their office in Ft. Wayne, IN, to get answers. Our visit with Kevin Podlaski confirmed our fears -- our case was now being handled by the third assistant attorney in less than two years, causing any forward progress to regress while the new attorney was brought up to speed. In turn, the asset search we were waiting for (and invoiced for) never happened. To top it all off, the very crucial advice that our case was a “dry hole” was given to us by Kevin Podlaski, and we left the meeting (and started our 7 hour drive home) feeling like that information would have completely changed our strategy had we known it sooner in the process. Kevin made it clear that our case had very little chance to collect damages, yet it took 2 years and an in-person visit for that information to get communicated. But that’s not really what this firm would have wanted; they would have been out our $15,000+.

OUTCOME: I now understand why the Google reviews for Podlaski LLP are mostly positive. They offered us a $1,088 out of “empathy” for our situation, admitting no wrongdoing. In exchange, they asked us to sign a settlement agreement saying that we would not post ANYTHING to social media about our experience. If we violated the agreement, we would be subject to $10,000 in damages PER SOCIAL MEDIA POST. Obviously, our new attorney told us that this was insane and to throw the agreement in the garbage. We declined signing, and the refund check showed up a couple of weeks later.

I also noticed that Podlaski responds to every bad review, typically blaming technological errors for lack of communication or calling the reviewer dishonest. This leads me to believe there will be a similar attempt to mischaracterize us and our situation. However, I have all invoices, emails, a 3rd party attorney's opinion and an audio recording of our in-person meeting with Kevin Podlaski that can backup anything in dispute.

TL;DR: Podlaski was difficult to communicate with and dragged our case out as we kept paying them. If you need legal assistance in Indiana, look elsewhere.

I contacted Podlaski LLP and Associates because I knew I was on a rollercoaster ride, unfairly pushed a sided as a consumer from a local vendor. After voicing my concerns, my Podlaski associate explained that “The Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA) defines taking unreasonable advantage of a consumer as an abusive act or practice in three circumstances, and I fell within 2/3.”
I’m summarizing but, when a consumer lacks understanding of the product or service's material risks, costs, or conditions and a company is aware of this lack of knowledge and enters into an agreement for payment and did not perform the services, it is a violation of an Indiana statue …….the The attorneys at Podlaski LLP, who have a thorough understanding of the law, quickly figured this out.
I received a precise road map of how and what this type of pursuit this would entail, and I am thankful I took the ride. “K. Podlaski negotiating skills are very impressive.” He and my attorney Zach worked efficiently to resolve my legal issues and negotiated a very favorable settlement (out of court) avoiding a long and costly trail.
I highly recommend this law firm, and I will always contact them with future legal problems, questions, or concerns.
