Wow, avoid these people. This is a quantity over quality press if ever has there been one. They boast about how many books they release. What they aren’t telling you is the awful editing conducted and the poor, borderline condescending customer service (don’t even dare ask why you haven’t received your order yet). And that is just the buyer experience. After some due diligence, there is another concern: If you are an author, BEWARE their custom contract offer. They will ask for an enormous front-loading of cash, allure an author with higher royalty percentages… then, once they have the author’s money, will fail to market the book... at all, it won't be on their table at festivals, not promoted on their social media, and despite their generic vanity-press-tactic of listing the title as purchasable by Ingram, will not push to get the work in actual stores. It is so bad at Rare Bird they will gloss over book details with such indifference that is unfortunately common you'll find their books misspelled on sites/platforms whom they’ve sent the info to, Amazon browse categories they've uploaded are incorrect, etc. In short, their plan is to monetize off an author’s payment to get the ball rolling, NOT sales after the fact. Buyer and Author beware, this is a ship that is slowly sinking.

Leaving one star because there’s not a way to leave a negative star.

If you’re an aspiring author or have a great book idea, then steer clear of this navigational hazard known as Rare Bird Literary.

Their contract is set up in their favor, with no mutual interest whatsoever, and fail to deliver on the terms they set.

Remember that kid from grade school who broke pinky promises? That’s Rare Bird, except those pinky promises are business arrangements and signed contracts.

Wow, I just some pretty negative reviews. Well, I did a book with them and it was a great experience, and sent other authors their way and these other authors were also happy. If you're not an author, but are looking for some cool books to read, I think you'll find lots to enjoy. The Internet is a bizarre place...

Johannes Gutenberg would be ashamed of this company. Taking his contribution to technology, the printing press, which was made as a way to spread knowledge rapidly, and turning it into a stream of poorly edited books with atrocious customer service. Shame on you Rare Bird. The quality of your product should reign supreme, remember that.

"Rare Bird" like a rare bird sighting, the chances of receiving or even knowing when my orders would arrive are rare. The ability to be able to sit through a book and not have a headache from simple typos to line spacing is also rare. Great stories, horrible editing.

Disorganized.
Zero transparency.
Unprofessional as the day is long.
