Rayme Suarez was more than I could have hoped for as a lawyer. She always picked up the phone or got back to me quickly, worked around my schedule to meet and overall was amazing. I've never needed a lawyer before and she really took the time to explain things to me and hold my hand through it all. She had my main charge reduced the 2 other charges dropped and then had it sealed. It is a relief to be able to know that everything is in the past and I can move forward with my life without being held back by a record. I thank God for her and everything she has done for me. If you are looking for a lawyer I would highly suggest her.

My name is Sammie L Mays–a local writer, author, television host and a twenty-year columnist with the same publishers. I met with Tavernier, Florida Keys, family/criminal attorney Rayme Lyn Suarez for a scheduled appointment, but have not yet decided to hire her. I first wanted to meet the her show her a bit of my plethora of evidence. It was extremely odd that the attorney lowly hovered behind her laptop continually peeking under the lid that was only three-fourths of the way open. It appeared she didn’t want me to know something. It struck me as extremely odd behavior. Why would an attorney meet a potential client with such distraction — a lack of focus for sure. Certainly not what I expected in a first criminal attorney meeting. Without my permission she was secretly recording my conversation. This I knew because my voice, my words, unexpectedly, from her laptop, began repeating what I had said. This disturbed me as she had not been retained. She too was taken by surprise but not for the same reason as I. She was surprised that it played back, saying, “I don’t know what’s wrong with this computer. It’s never done this before and I can’t seem to turn it off.” And that’s when the attorney began to lowly hover with her laptop lid partially closed, for the rest of our one hour conversation.
While recording, she mentioned that she knew the case judge very well and also my opponent’s attorney. Hmm, very interesting I thought. “We speak regularly.” The upper Florida Keys family/criminal attorney continued. My case is not a simple case. There are many twists and turns. I accepted her appointment time as she offered me as much time as took for her to understand the three cases with my identity thief. As I recall, the attorney said, “The entire afternoon is yours, if you need it. I’ve nothing else planned.” Within an hour or perhaps less than that, she asked to make a few copies of my evidence. I agreed but was careful not to give her too much. I was wary due to realistic suspicions. After the copies were made, our conversation was abruptly halted. The attorney suddenly needed to leave this extremely important meeting, to take her dog to the groomer. In response I said, “Wait, you don’t yet have the entire picture. What happened to “all afternoon?” She said, “I’ll get back with you tomorrow after having a look at your cd.
Tomorrow came and went, no call, and no answers to my dozen plus concerned calls. This went on for nearly a month with the first of three cases approaching. Finally I decided to call the Florida Bar to file a complaint and force her reluctant hand to give me my evidence. Only some of it was returned (none of the copies) on the 21st, two days after the criminal’s first court case. Very disturbing.
Afterwards, I was having dinner with a friend who’s a successful Florida Keys business professional when I brought the subject up — what I learned in response from an actual client of Attorney Rayme Suarez’s, is that the attorney, due to too little effort on the client’s part, failed to make a proper case. The local business person (the client) was charged regardless, costing the local an arm and leg.
