I recently sorted my house out with them which went smoothly, however once sorted I was recommend to rent it to one of their own solicitors that worked there. I was told she was a reliable tenant and very trustworthy, so I have done. Now the tenancy is ended and she is not leaving my property, I have got back in contact with them to resolve the issue and been told they “can’t assist me” because it involves one of their colleagues?! Quick to push her in my property, but won’t help me get her out. Doesn’t seem right in my opinion. Be careful who you trust.

I recently remortgaged my property, and Sophie was so helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Every time I called, the receptionist was very friendly. I would recommend Rutherfords and definitely use again.

We used Rutherford’s services recently when arranging and signing a commercial lease on a new property we were relocating to. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Rutherfords looked after both our house purchase and sale. All staff involved were professional and kept us informed constantly throughout the process. Always happy to answer any questions i had in a friendly manor nothing was ever too much trouble.

Tony Illsley (executor of the will of my late Father and to obtain grant of probate ) and responsable for the day to day administering of the estate, took an incredibly slow 3 YEARS 9 MONTHS !!!! from start to finish.
Prices and time taken greatly increased from initial quotes with no warning.(Total price only given near the end and not when it had exceeded the quote)
Emails and calls ignored constantly forcing me to try again multipule times for updates and progress information . An internal threatenting complaint was then made to David Waterhouse to speed things up which worked and within 7 days Tony , i thought had finished and closed the case ( i thought all had ended ).
2 YEARS 3 MONTHS later i had a email from Tony saying he was closing the case and £160 left in the account to be paid to me,when asked where it was from i was told it was from a council tax rebate, from what date i asked (got no answer) how much fee have you taken from monies that was left it the account i asked Maxine Witton (Tony's secretary) , i was told nothing was taken,then later it changed to £230 was in the account and £70 from a miscalculation from 2 years ago was taken leaving me with £160, (yeah right !!! why did you ,Tony not just say that from the beginning explaining where it was from in the email you send to me also no paperwork was produced to back up your story even though requested !!) Another example of withholding important.Just to add no house was sold or cleared within this process by Tony.

We recenctly had our Wills drawn up, during the pandemic. I was very impressed with the courteous service we received from Sarah Hassall. As i have hearing problems, even with hearing aids, Sarah spoke very clearly and didn't rush through any conversations I had. She also returned my calls and email queries very promptly. It made the whole process easy to understand and complete.
I couldn't recommend this company too highly, and should the need arise. would have no problem in returning to them for their advice.

My parents have contacted Rutherfords for a quote for a service provided by their conveyancing department on 7 separate occasions. They have called that many times over a 7 day period that the receptionist knew my mothers first name. The solicitor concerned has still failed to return their calls giving various excuses for why she has not yet returned their calls even though the receptionist has emailed her several times. She has either left early or they were told she is working from home! They have now taken their business to a company that did return their call. I would not recommend Rutherfords to anybody.
