My case is a complicated matter that poses many challenges; however, upon first meeting Nate Smith, he never once let these challenges stand in the way of extending a helping hand. In every conversation, he has extended grace, compassion, and wise counsel. Nate has a true heart for speaking up against injustice. His integrity, sincerity, and compassion is something I have not seen nor experienced from any other attorney or law firm that I have spoken or met with, among two different states, up to this point in my case. I was very disappointed in Smith and Smith law firm because they use God and scripture to promote themselves with their motto: “We listen! We Care! We persist!” When I walked in the firm for the first time and saw the scripture cards, the devotional calendar, and etc., I felt relieved that I would be working with, I thought, godly people. What an emotional, devastating feeling to realize this was not true. Leigh Thompson was totally unprofessional and insensitive in handling my case. She made incorrect assumptions and would not listen to my corrections of her said assumptions. She would rudely interrupt, roll her eyes, and become argumentative. I went in to sign an agreement paper between parties but after reading it, I didn’t agree with one of the statements and marked a line through it before signing it. She ended up running the copy again without changing it and threw away the one I had marked in disagreement. I finally told her I was done and through with her after she brings up the same issue again after telling her several times prior that it had been dealt with accordingly. She replies that she was withdrawing, and I’m like good because I was firing you anyway! What is more astonishing she thinks she is going to charge me for her lack of ability to comprehend a simple truth and for other petty bogus charges because I requested a refund for her pathetically poor job performance.
I’m also disappointed in this Phil Smith because I emailed him to have a meeting like they encourage you to do if there’s a problem! Nothing!! After reading a review about Phil cussing out an individual for having a problem with this same attorney, Leigh Thompson, I was happy he didn’t reply to my email or arrange a meeting with me because I would have been farther appalled if he were to act the same way towards me. The reviews about the firm not replying and not keeping you informed I reinforce the statements and add they do not give you copies of any paper work they do concerning your case. Oh wait, I did get one paper in the mail! It was to let me know a hearing was set for the judge to sign off for her to withdraw from the case. I usually don’t write reviews, but the use of God in this place is such a hypocrisy I felt led to say something! If everyone is not on board about being a godly representation of a Christian in the firm then all Christian material needs to be removed because you are playing with a person’s soul if they are lost! I thank God I am His servant and know heaven is my future home because of my salvation in Jesus. If I had not been saved, because of the ungodly behaviors, I would have been bitter and angry toward you people and would have condemned your belief in a God. I close with this scripture from Paul's second letter to the Corinthians in Chapter 2:17. He writes that “unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.”

horrible money hungry firm. i am being charged almost 500$ i have never met with the lawyer never spoke to him on the phone and ive paid this firm almost 7k$ this past 7 months to pay backtaxes on property that was left for me in my grandfathers will and im not the holder of the will and im still being charged for phone calls and meetings that i never attended. so if you inherited any property i suggest finding another lawyer to help you figure everything out.

When you choose a lawyer you want to choose someone that you can depend on, that is reliable, and will be on your side. This was not the case with Leigh Thompson. It was really just one disappointment after another. We put so much faith behind our lawyer's words and we were completely blindsided by the lack of professionalism. After our court case, we met with several other lawyers that told us just how mishandled our case was from the very beginning. We put the interest of our child in the hands of someone and from the start they mishandled the case. It was a gut wrenching lesson. Please don’t make the same mistake we did. It is still 8 months later and we are still dealing with mistakes they made in the paperwork after completely mishandled the case. When my husband brought this to the attention of Phil Smith he was yelled at, cussed at, and called my husband a complainer because they do not want to fix their mistakes. My husband is a calm man, he did not raise his voice or cuss back, instead he kept his calm and prayed for them. These are not people you want to put your faith in. We were unsure if we should leave a review, but if you help one person not go through the same thing, it is worth it. Please pick someone else to represent you in your court case.

In reply to the message below, please take the time to read the above. We tried for months to schedule an appointment with Phil and were blown off time and time again, even with having a set appointment. When Phil did speak with my husband on the phone he was called a complainer, for voicing his concerns, cussed at and yelled at. It was at this moment that we realized that we don't want other people to have to go through the same thing. That is not a way to treat anyone, especially someone who was relying on you for legal advice.
