Attorney Stamos is rarely there, and his secretary is both uncouth and ineffective. I tried calling his office at 3:30 on a Friday and was told he had already left for the weekend. His secretary failed to inform me that he usually leaves at noon every day, but took down my number so he could call me on Monday. He called me around 10:00 that following Monday morning, when I was unavailable. I called back later, just before 3 pm, to no avail. That's when she chose to inform me that he leaves the office by noon... NOON... And that he typically arrives at 9:30 am. So the following day I shifted around my schedule to call him before noon. The earliest I could call was 11:50, and of course - you guessed it - he was already gone for the day. I expressed my disbelief and frustration, and instead of understanding WHY it was so perplexing to me that he's there for barely two and a half hours a day, the secretary gave me an extreme attitude and kept threatening to hang up as if it was beneath her to address the valid concerns of someone trying to contact her employer. She begrudgingly offered to have him call me again. I declined, given the fact that it's hard enough for me to be available during the TWO HOUR WINDOW he's actually in the office. I understand being your own employer (as I am as well) and making your own hours, but as someone who serves a clientele, it's important to be at least a little more flexible and accommodating to the people. The secretary's rudeness was also uncalled for as I was not getting nasty with her directly, but simply addressing his absence - even during the few hours he's supposed to be there.

Day four of trying to speak with him: I'm told by his secretary that he's "been out all week sick". I ask why she didn't tell me this information yesterday and explain to her again how much I had to switch around my schedule to make this phone call - I add that I'm sleep deprived because I work nights and this is the equivalent to asking the average person to wake up at 2 or 3 am to make a phone call. She states that she "couldn't tell me that yesterday, but he finally gave me permission to tell you"... Even though I explained to her on Monday how difficult it was for me to make the call... So either they are not properly communicating or someone is lying. It would have been simple to just tell me he was unavailable for a few days rather than have me jump through hoops trying to reach him. This whole experience has been disheartening and inhumane, especially given the sensitive nature of my call. I've tried being as polite as possible - any grievance I've had was simply disappointment and disbelief that I've been unable to reach attorney Stamos and that communication has been so poor - but I've been treated as an angry, cursing, ranting Walmart patron. Communication has been completely devoid of compassion or respect.

I finally reached attorney Stamos today, only for him to rush me off the phone. The best I can say is that he took my phone call while he was with a client because he didn't want to make me have to call again.

I know attorneys are not known for their warmth or concern, but between his short hours and his secretary's complete lack of empathy or communication skills, this whole experience has been exhausting and demoralizing. I've been so burnt out, depressed, and sleep deprived from my situation that I've been fantasizing about hanging myself in my closet, and this surely hasn't helped.

I did not get satisfactory results. I received an eviction and no lawyer referral for eviction prevention help services from Unite CT. The plaintiff’s attorney outwitted my attorney.
