I used Stellar Tax Consultanting for my 2019 personal and business taxes. I’ve used them in the past. They are definitely not the cheapest tax service. But it’s hard to find a tax service taking new customers is Summit county. I met with them and handed over my info. Geoffrey said it would cost $950. It seemed excessive but I agreed. When I was called in to sign for my taxes he gave me a bill of $1650! Almost double what we had agreed upon! When asked why it went up so much he simply said “ he forgot to add some stuff”.... I said I wouldn’t pay that amount and he replied that he would not submit my taxes and that I was liable for this payment. I then told him I was calling the State Attorney General to report this. He then lowered the bill to $1100. I still didn’t like this extortion but had no choice since I didn’t want to be late with taxes and would be impossible to find another tax company at such a late date. So I paid and he submitted. Then he sent a nasty email saying to look elsewhere next year and to not contact him. My girlfriend uses him for her business as well and he was extremely rude to her after this. Now here is where he gets really scummy! I purchased a house this year and needed proof of my taxes were filed since the irs was shut down due to the virus. My mortgage company just needed the email acceptance of my taxes. He would only forward me the email if I paid him $500!! And I had to use Venmo so that it could not be disputed or reversed... Unfortunately I had to because my deadline was the next day. He sent me over a barely legible copy of what appeared to be a made up acceptance email. So, my point with this long review is that Geoffrey Stacey and Stellar Tax Consultants are not to be trusted! I would stay clear of this company. Not only are they unprofessional, unethical and do not stand by their words, they are extremely over priced for the low level service you will receive... If you are looking for a company that will extort you and steal your hard earned money, then you have found them with Stellar Tax Extortionists....
