I've used The Document People several times - the first time in my divorce, the second time in creating a revocable trust and now the most recent time. I have been so happy with Paolo and his staff that when I moved out of state and needed an amendment and restatement of my trust, I reached back out to him in California to do so. The package he sent me was so beautifully organized and thorough I was able to easily take it to a notary and get all the appropriate signatures/witnesses and seals. I highly recommend this service. In my mind the only one that can update my 23 year old living trust is through an attorney. I googled -“living trust attorney near me “ and Goldfarb & Luu popped up on the right side. I am not sure if this company paid to get such a prominent place on my screen. With a review score of 4.7/5 with 66 reviews, it must be great. After several weeks of delay, partly due to my jury duty and partly due to the extremely busy schedule of Rebecca Goldfarb, Rebecca finally had time. I paid a retainer fee of $1050. Rebecca told me she can’t update it and recommended that I go with her comprehensive Estate Planning for $5900.00 I was shocked. I emailed Rebecca Goldfarb to justify this amount but she ignored my question. I called a couple of attorney and they all came in around $3000.00 to $5000.00 depending on complexity.

I googled ´trust attorney near me ‘ and I found The Document People near the corner of Topanga Canyon and Ventura Blvd. I called them up. Andrea answered and told me they can do it. For a married couple it would be $899.00. For single, $799.00 . To update an existing living trust $399.00. I was a bit skeptical because Goldfarb & Luu wanted $5900.00 so this would have been $5500.00 less expensive. It was easy to make appointment. Someone always answered the phone . It will be a flat fee with no charges for emails, phone calls, time used, etc. I made an appointment a week later and Cynthia met me. She went over my existing trust and said she can update it. She asked me to come back a week later with the names of the beneficiary. After I gave her the names, she completed the update in 1 week. In between Cynthia called me a couple of times to get some information. She didn’t charge me extra. She was very always on time, polite, nice and thorough. I am thankful that I found The Document People and worked with Cynthia. If I have to update my beneficiary in the future, it will be $149.00 .

In summary I paid $399.00 with a check to The Document People and my trust was updated with my new beneficiaries . I spent $393.00 with Goldfarb & Luu and I got absolutely nothing. On top of that I felt a bit bullied when I was just given the schedule that Goldfarb & Luu staff was available rather without regard to my own schedule. I am please with The Document People . One of the ‘scary thing ´is the expense to answer every email. I am hesitant to email or ask question G & L . With The Document People I don’t have to worry about that.

Quick and easy! Paolo, Andrea and Cynthia are an extraordinary team! They handled my documents professionally, efficiently, and answered all of my questions with patience and clarity. I feel so much more at ease that they took careful care and attention to the delicate and critical information for my family’s documents. Needed to get an affordable divorce without a lawyer. Was initially trying to do the paperwork myself using the court's free resources since my divorce was going to be very easy: no assets, no contesting, no dependents, etc. After a week of studying, I was immediately overwhelmed with all the forms needed even for a "simple" divorce.
