CAUTION: I engaged in this law firm to draft our will while undergoing cancer treatment to ensure our affairs were in order. Upon reviewing the document, I discovered several alarming discrepancies:

1. Contrary to our explicit instructions, the firm inserted provisions enabling them to assume the role of executor, which we vehemently opposed given the substantial value of our estate.

2. Additionally, they included clauses entitling themselves to reimbursement for expenses such as airfare, despite our sole intent being the creation of a will.
3. Most concerning, within the section granting special powers, my husband’s initials were purportedly affixed, granting them unwarranted control. These initials were unmistakably forged, as my husband, a retired Federal agent, employs a unique signature style that cannot be replicated.

Subsequently, we terminated their services and engaged alternative representation at considerable expense to rectify the situation. Despite numerous requests, they have refused to provide us with our original documents, even upon demand from our new attorney.

I caution others to thoroughly scrutinize any legal documents provided by this firm. Prior attempts to address these issues were met with unusual resistance and inexplicable confusion during communications, leading me to question the integrity of their practices.

Forging a signature of a federal agent constitutes a serious federal offense and may also be subject to state law penalties. It is imperative to seek guidance from a qualified legal professional regarding any related matters.

My initial visit with Attorney Harvin was to discuss my options as they related to “Medicaid Asset Protection Trust” which may potentially be established to protect assets from being spent down on long term care in a nursing home. It got a little complicated because I am a resident of Colorado snow birding in Florida who wants to protect property in Florida from the prying eyes of Medicaid should either my wife or I require long term care. Attorney Harvin spoke with high integrity and honesty explaining the complications of income and asset tests with us owning property in Florida while being a resident of Colorado. He recommended I connect him with our attorney in Colorado to determine the optimal course of action for possibly implementing an enhanced Lady Bird Deed. I couldn’t be happier with Attorney Harvin.
