I contacted the Everett Cook law firm regarding a criminal matter. I spoke to him briefly about the matter and sent him money for representation. He then sent me a retainer agreement with divorce crossed out and criminal written in. I thought I needed an expert in criminal area, so I decided to fire him and asked for my money back. At this time, I never executed the retainer agreement and Mr. Cook never represented me in the criminal matter. I even said I would pay for anything he did. He refused to give me any money back and started to verbally attack me. I noticed from other reviews he has done this in the past. My wife and I attempted to call his office in an effort to resolve this matter amicably. He refused to return my wife and my calls over approximately a 3-month period. Finally, I got Mr Cook on the phone and he said he would send out a check in a certain amount. It was not the full amount, but I agreed in an attempt to resolve this matter. Weeks and months went by and no check appeared. During this time my wife and I called another 15 times. No response. Finally, today he claims in a letter we never had that conversation. The initial contact with Mr. Cook place in June. (This is over a six-month period). Today, Mr. Cook sends out a letter incorrectly claiming my retainer was for a certain amount of money and for a Custody case. Both of these facts are incorrect. It is obvious he just took a form letter and put my name on it. He didn’t even take the time to write a proper letter with the correct facts. The letter further shows this is something he has issues with on a regular basis. Mr. Cook never represented me in Court which I am very happy I fired him. The reason I write this review is that he was very unprofessional and dishonest to me, and it is indisputable that he made mistakes in his correspondence to me. I want other possible clients to be careful and read the other google reviews concerning his representation. I hope this does not happen to others.

I want to set the record straight and respond to Mr. Cook's response to the google review. It took Mr. Cook over 6 months to finally get back to me. He had no interest in attempting to resolve the issue because he already had my money. Then Mr. cook lied about our telephone conversation and took an additional 3 months to get back to me. Once I did some investigation on Mr. Cook, I found out he is practicing in Pennsylvania under his middle name and not his licensed name which is highly deceptive. Based upon his attorney number he also has exaggerated his length of legal experience. I filed a disciplinary complaint with the Pennsylvania bar association. I want people to know that I had a very bad experience and interaction with Mr. Cook, and I don't want others to experience the same problems.

My husband and I had 2 retain counsel for a civil suit w/a disgruntled ex friend who made bs allegations, & was trying to take 1 of my 3 dogs, who happened to be my service dog. We hired Mr. Attorney Cook, who told us he'd knock it outta the ball park and boy did he follow through!! And I really definitely just can't say enough about Lauren's grace, compassion, and overall pleasing personality!! She dealt w/me ALOT & never once got miserable & if she was annoyed she never showed it!! I felt like she was our personal cheerleader & believe me I'm sure I drove her nuts w/all my worries about Daisy, and she was very true 2 her word also when she said she'd be team Daisy 4ever!!
I really cant say enough about their professionalism, compassion, team work, etc..
There's a million lawyer jokes out there but Attorney Cook doesn't fit the mold of any of them!! He is a fantastic lawyer with a genuine understanding of the law who loves what he does and couldn't be more honest & legit if he tried!! Lauren once told me he's a good honest man that we could trust. She was right!!
And she is just as good & honest, I hope she never 4gets that!! I would totally want her as a friend if they'd be open 2 it. Thank you so much to the both of you!! You guys really took a horrible, horrible situation and turned it into something great through your dedication, commitment & hard work!! I really felt like We & Daisy were of the utmost importance & always the top of your priority list even though I obviously know you guys had other cases to handle. That's when you know you chose the right Attorney when not only does he make you feel that way but the rest of the people in the office you interact with make you feel that way also!! Great work you two, i will definitely recommend you to anyone who'll listen, so selfishly I hope you dont retire for a good long while!! Thank you again!!
