If you need an honest family law attorney Williams law is definitely the place to call. Christopher and his team have gone above and beyond to help me and my family in a very convoluted and sticky custody matter. 10/10 would recommend to every person I know who is close enough to have him represent them. Affordable, extremely knowledgeable and all this firm does is family law so he really knows the ins and outs of how things work. Let me say I feel I got scammed, and it's my fault I trusted these people. I called for an uncontested/default divorce, they charged me for contested. Every step of the way I had to remind them "Hey can I get a copy of my divorce paperwork?" "Hey Can you remember to file for my default divorce" I was lucky enough I planned to bring a witness that was needed since they didn't inform me as well (Though they did say "yes" when I asked them if I should bring one after doing my google search). Then at the end when all was said and done I paid them 2500$ when they used less than $800 for my entire process and they "don't do refunds" and in my opinion it seems they make sure to carefully put that as soon as the retainer is paid it is considered "earned" to me it seems this language is used to keep them from having to abide by any regulations stating to return all unearned money. In my situation and from my perspective they behaved as scammers who take advantage of the unknowing. Do your research, shop around, and don't settle it could save you thousands.

***Edit, since I have been emailed regarding this post. I did sign a contract with this company. I did not notice the language at first that stated the retainer fees were "non-refundable" and the language stated that they were considered "earned". As I stated in my post, this was my fault as I blindly trusted not to be taken advantage of and did not read this as carefully as I should have. However, I still disagree with keeping over $1500 as an "umbrella in case you ever need our services again" when I had asked for an uncontested/default divorce and was told they had planned for a contested divorce on their end after the fact. I learned my lesson to further investigate who I trust, I am simply giving my experience in this matter. This is how some, if not many, law offices work. I understand that. I am simply warning people to be careful who you work with and read everything carefully. If you can take home any contracts and review carefully and do not sign in that one 15 minute meeting that you get.

I went to Chris’ office 5 minutes after being told by another local lawyer that may case basically had no chance of being won. I had fought my case for two years already, and it involved my children, so imagine my dismay when I heard the words “your case is a 50/50 shot and you should probably just settle”... I had never heard of Williams Law and Mediation, but after talking with some friends they all agreed I should look into his office. I immediately knew after talking with Chris that he was the lawyer I could trust with my case. To see it through, to fight for everything I was wanting, and that he was someone that would take me seriously. Fast forward a year, and after several negotiations, I ended up getting everything I asked for and then some. Chris fought for me when I had no voice, and ultimately he gave me back confidence in myself as a parent and a person as a whole. My kids have always been my entire world. They are not 50/50, they are not a case I was willing to lose, and I truly couldn’t have picked a better lawyer to fight in my corner and to stand up for them... and me.
If I’m ever in need of a lawyer in the future or for legal help there’s no question in my mind that Williams Law and Mediation is the place that I will go.
